I loved photographing this family who was reunited here in Brazil for a family holiday. Since the ‘kids’ turned out to be a little older than playground age, my usual bribing with chocolates was out. But the adult version of sweets by letting them play cards was just the ticket to get us all to relax and have a fun couple of hours back in Beco de Batman here in Sao Paulo.
I get a lot of requests from families who are spending a few years here in Sao Paulo to do a – what I call – ‘memories’ session. Something they can remember their time (and themselves) by. I am always honored to receive these requests, and the trust placed in me to be able to depict the family how they are today, at this moment in time. Cities will change and kids will grow, but the pictures stay to be viewed forever. There is something lovely in that sentiment, don’t you think?
